For those of you waiting to get your 2010 rate notification from the BWC, keep waiting. The BWC has decided, to cut costs, and to help the kids, they will not be sending rate notification in the mail. This year all employers will receive a post card, telling them that their 2010 rates are available on the BWC's web site.

I have not seen one of the post cards yet, but I do not expect them to be too helpful. Rates have always been available on the BWC's site, but finding them is almost impossible. So I highly doubt the BWC will be able to get their message out and give detailed instructions on how to navigate their site, in such a small space.

I'm typically one of the last to admit when any state organization is making progress, but when I went to the BWC's July board meeting today, I got a little surprise. The BWC released their progress on many of the Deloitte recommendations.

Incase you do not remember the BWC had Deloitte do a study on how to make the BWC more competitive. The BWC has responded, and is on a pretty good pace to meet many of the recommendations.

The 50/50 plan is available for the Jan. 1, 2010, to June 30, 2010, reporting period. To participate you must use the 50/50 Payment Plan service offering your coverage status must be active, and you must not be enrolled in the Flexible Payment Plan (FlexPay) for the reporting period.
