Having Trouble Making BWC Premium Payments?

If your company is in financial difficulty, the BWC offers the following programs, to help you keep your workers' comp. coverage active.

The 50/50 plan is available for the Jan. 1, 2010, to June 30, 2010, reporting period. To participate you must use the 50/50 Payment Plan service offering your coverage status must be active, and you must not be enrolled in the Flexible Payment Plan (FlexPay) for the reporting period. You must report your payroll and pay 50 percent of your premium at the same time. You cannot report your payroll, and then pay 50 percent of your premium later. You must submit your payroll information and pay 50 percent of your premium by Aug. 31, 2010. The remaining premium is due by Dec. 1, 2010. To pay the remaining premium, you must use the Accounts receivable balance service offering.

FlexPay allows private, state-fund employers to pre-pay their premiums online and receive a discount for paying all their premium before the deadline. Employers who wish to participate in the program, will be able to sign up for the program, view discount payment schedules, report payroll and pay premiums by transferring an account balance or using a credit card. The discounts are incremental and decline based upon the payment date. The earlier employers pay their entire premium, the greater the discount they will receive. BWC will apply the early payment discount to the employer's total blended premium after all other discount, dividends, etc. And BWC will base the discount rates on our most recent actuarial audit, so they may fluctuate by payroll period.
